This DIY (Do It Yourself) Instruction page is available as a PDF Download. Join us for our Yarniversity Podcast Episode 96 where we show you how to dye your own gradient yarn with ingredients in your kitchen!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 loosely wound ball of yarn. We recommend a natural fibre yarn such as wool and/or alpaca. We do not recommend synthetic fibres for this kind of dyeing.
- Container suitable for hot water (we like glass measuring cups and pickle jars)
- White vinegar
- Food colouring (what you'd use for colouring an icing for a cake)
- Hot water
- 1/2 teaspoon measuring spoon
