Snowmen are a welcoming sight in winter. And how much more so when armed with
a hockey stick? This snowman is knitted all in one piece from the bottom up on double- pointed needles. Buttons and hockey stick (or broom) are attached with sewing thread. Substitute a broom for the hockey stick for a more traditional look
.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
About 5 ins / 13 cm tall from base to top of hat and 2.5 ins / 6.5 cm across at widest part.

GAUGE
About 18 sts and 24 rnds = 2 ins / 5 cm in St st, worked in rnds. Eact gauge isn't crucial but will affect the size of the snowman.

NEEDLES & NOTIONS
2.5 mm / US Size 1 or 2: set of 5 double-pointed needles (dpn).
Removable marker; two 1 3/8 ins / 3.8 mm metal washers (available at hardware stores); about 5 grams of polyester fiberfill stuffing; tapestry needle; one 5/8 ins / 1.5 cm cardinal button; five 1⁄4 ins / 6mm round black buttons; one 11⁄4 ins / 3.2 cm paper clip for hockey stick; dinner fork for making optional broom tassel; sharp-point sewing needle and black thread for attaching buttons.

Adaptation - Frosty the GnomeMan
