Designed exclusively for RCY by Ann Budd.
Snowmen are a welcoming sight in winter. And how much more so when armed with
a hockey stick? This snowman is knitted all in one piece from the bottom up on double- pointed needles. Buttons and hockey stick (or broom) are attached with sewing thread. Substitute a broom for the hockey stick for a more traditional look.
About 5 ins / 13 cm tall from base to top of hat and 2.5 ins / 6.5 cm across at widest part.
About 18 sts and 24 rnds = 2 ins / 5 cm in St st, worked in rnds. Eact gauge isn't crucial but will affect the size of the snowman.
Fingering weight (#1 Super Fine)
Shown here: Ancient Arts Hat Trick (352 meters / 385 yards per 100 grams): Ride the Pine (cream), about 10 grams; Backcheck (black), about 4 grams; Penalty Shot (orange), about 1 meter / 1 yard.
