Our friend Robbi was inspired to turn a skein of Handmaiden Silk Rumple (100% Pure Silk Boucle 300m /  328yds and 100g / 3.5oz ) into a classy neckerchief that she wore in a variety of styles. Everytime she came into the shop, other customers wanted to make one too, so we wrote down Robbi's "recipe" into a simple pattern that we could share with everyone who loves the look of lace.

We used Handmaiden Silk Rumple (100% silk) for our sample, and since then we have knit it in our worsted weight Eden (81% Merino, 9% Cashmere, 10%, Nylon), and most recently in our super bulky merino, Flouf.  All of these yarns are dyed by the artists at Hand Maiden.

Freshly dyed from Hand Maiden, try one skein of Mulberry Tussah for this neckerchief.

You’ll find this pattern easy to knit and the design even easier to wear. You can stop whenever you feel it's the size right for you, whether that is bandana style: short and sweet or large enough (approx 72 ins / 180 cm wide) to wear as a shawl in summer and wrap it double like a scarf in other seasons.

The creamy-pink photo used one skein of River City Yarns Eden, in colourway: Winter.

Barb reknit Robbi's Neckerchief, in just one evening, using one skein of Hand Maiden Flouf (colour Hyacynth) on 12mm / US 17 needles. She had just enough left over to make a fun tassel for the point.  The bulky yarn makes a great bandana style triangle. Try one - so fun!
