We've been playing with our RCY Originals patterns, changing the yarns, adding in some optional additions and just having fun. If you'd like to try out some of our updates and changes, download the addendum here. Just add to cart, check out, and you will receive a link to download the pdf. It's worth noting... these free addendums won't make any sense without the original pattern.
Fuzzy Foot Socks: the Bunny Edition. Using our original Fuzzy Foot Socks pattern, we embarked on a challenge to make kid's size slippers. We used a smaller needle, changed the yarn composition and added a mohair + silk for a soft, furry haze. Oh, so adorable!
Fuzzy Foot Socks: the Epic Elf Edition: We wanted to add a little Elfish fun to our original Fuzzy Foot Socks pattern, so we made them up in red and green and added a few short rows and curly toe topper. The addendum takes you through the short row shaping and the i-cord curl.
Fuzzy Foot Socks: the Marled Edition: In this sample, we had some fun mixing colours. Pick up two of your favourite worsted weight (feltable) yarns and a copy of our original Fuzzy Foot Socks pattern, and follow our colour combination instructions to create a custom colour blend (aka marl).
Shinny Mitts Luxe: In our luxe version of these lined mittens, we use our Adam & Eve hand dyed cashmere blend yarn from Hand Maiden for the outer mitt and Rowan Kidsilk Haze for the liner. We followed the original pattern instructions as written, except to change the needle sizes to get gauge with the yarn choices.
Top Shelf Toppers: these lovely boot cuffs were designed for us by Fiona Ellis. In this re-yarning of the cuffs, we used our RCY El Rio (100% baby alpaca) yarn. We changed the needles to accommodate the DK weight yarn and used two colours instead of one. Download the free addendum to use along with your Top Shelf Toppers pattern to create a DK weight version of these cosy cuffs.
