Ruth Gallo from Todwick Studios has designed a pattern for knitting a featherweight garment that is perfect to pop on, when you want an extra layer and a sweater would be too much. The Whisper Popover, when knit with Hand Maiden Wisp mohair, creates a lofty, top down yoke garment with a simple one row elongated cross stitch detail on the yoke.
Notes: The Popover pattern includes three sizes: S/M, L/XL and XXL and recommends different yarns. For the Wisp version, you will need 1 skein of Wisp, held single stranded, (400m) for sizes S/M and 2 skeins (800) for sizes L/XL or XXL. Length of garment is S/M - 16.5”, L/XL - 20.5” XXL - 24.5”. Bind off, using a stretchy bind off method. This pattern and yarn is so nice - you will want to make more than one!
Gauge: 16 stitches and 21 rows = 10 cm on a 5.0 mm needle.
Yardage: 400 - 800 yards (366 - 732 m)
Needle Sizes - US 7 - 4.5 mm / 40cm (neckline & yoke) and US 8 - 5.0 mm / 60cm (yoke and body) or size to get gauge.
