Mission 2: Stained Glass. Want to start Mission 2? This lovely pattern (found on p. 20 of the book) is a stranded colourwork project worked as an ankle sock. A short sock needs less yarn, so we turned to Rhichard Devrieze Peppino (100% superwash Merino, 65g and 206 m per skein) for some lovely "pair-ings" of colour. Barb and Cynthia put together custom colour pairings for you or you can choose your own colours: one dark plus one light to make the stained glass "pop".
Mission 1: I Scream. Your first project, should you choose to knit it, will be to make these colourful ice cream inspired socks, designed by Caitlin Thomson, featured in the book Operation Sock Drawer. Each yarn kit contains one 100 gram skein and three 20 gram mini skeins of fingering weight merino nylon sock yarn dyed by Over the Moon Yarn, a local-to-us hand-dyer.
