A sock blank is a piece of knitted fabric that can be unraveled and knit or crocheted from directly. Alternatively, it can be unraveled, rewound into a skein, washed, dried, rewound into a ball and then used. Please note: There will be one end that is easier to pull from than the other. The end that is easier is the one that the blank should be unravelled from.
Sock Blanks are a whole lot of fun to dye. This form of skein allows for an easier process of dyeing stripes and/or speckles. Once it has been dyed, let it dry and then it will be ready for use. This yarn base is best used for socks.
