Join Barb and Cynthia in a July MAL (Make-A-Long) to supply your local charity with some projects for babies. It's a great time of year to think about small projects and to use up those small balls of yarn that you don't really know what to do with.
For this MAL, you can use any pattern that you enjoy and any type of craft that you prefer: knit, crochet, stitch, weave or sew. Use a yarn or fabric supplies that are machine washable and dryer dryable. Not sure? Make a swatch/sample and test it out! Find a local charity or organization that you'd like to support and send them your gifts. Barb and Cynthia will be making for Basically Babies, Edmonton.
We'd like to support and encourage your efforts and cheer you on, so we've created a Ravelry thread for you to post photos of your projects and for you to tell us a bit about where your handmade donations are going. This would be a great place to tell us a bit about the design you're using, in case others want to try it out as well. You can find that thread here: https://www.ravelry.com/discuss/river-city-yarns/topics/4138984.
As an added incentive, for the next four Saturdays in July (10, 17, 24 and 31), we'll go to the Ravelry thread and randomly select one lucky participant to receive a coupon for $25 off one of our online classes. Post something new each week to increase your chances of winning!
Plus (there's more!) Register here for a Saturday Seminar on July 24 (starting at 11:00 am MT) with Cynthia on how to make a top down (knitted) hat. Cynthia will show you how to begin a top down hat using either double pointed needles or one long circular (magic loop style). She'll share some insights for creating a hat with any gauge and talk about alternate finishing (brim) options. The registration fee is only $10! In addition to the seminar, you'll receive a copy of our "Hat for Rachel" pattern and half of all the registration fees will be donated to Basically Babies.
