Last fall the creative folks at Hand Maiden and Fleece Artist put out a call for pattern submissions based on the theme of Nova Scotia colours and culture.  The interest was strong from pattern designers with fond memories and inspirations drawn from the Nova Scotia land, culture, and its people. Come and visit with us as we hear the story behind the stories from Jana at Hand Maiden: https://youtu.be/8dNiweWRRIw.

Like the tidal forces that shape Nova Scotia, this two colour lace shawl pattern invokes the imagery of waves on the shoreline drawing sand and stone back through the surf.

We are offering kits to create your own Tidal Bay Shawl, with Mini Maiden, a single ply blended yarn with the structure of wool and the sheen of silk. Sample image is shown in Hand Maiden Mini Maiden in Melmerby Beach (combo colours of Crema and Frozen Ocean). This yarn has the softness, warmth and durability and will make the softest squishiest shawl that you will love to wrap up in and wear in all the seasons.
