Image of 4 swatches grafted together without seams. Amazing!
An image of Ann Budd, one of our favourite instructors. Ann is knowledgeable and wise. And she'll explain things in a way that makes sense!
Square image of swatches that have been grafted together. The swatches demonstrate that you can "kitchener stitch" on pretty much any knitting pattern. Cool, eh?

We've arranged to hold a class with Ann Budd on Zoom. You can take this class from the comfort of your own home and the session will be recorded, in case you have any internet connection issues.

How to graft, seam-less-ly!

Are you intimidated by the Kitchener stitch? Meet it head on with Ann Budd and overcome your fears of this too-often dreaded stitch, whether it’s used on stockinette stitch, reverse stockinette stitch, garter stitch, ribbing, or even the tubular bind-off. In this one-hour seminar, Ann will demystify the mechanics of this excellent finishing stitch and present a simple way to remember the sequence of steps that produce a perfect finish for toes of socks, tips of mittens, hems of hats and sweaters, and a “seamless” way to join two sets of live stitches. An illustrated handout of the various techniques will be provided.

Our next session of this 60 minute class will take place on Wednesday, February 8, starting at 3:30 pm PST, 4:30 pm MST, 5:30 pm CST, 6:30 pm EST and 7:30 pm AST.

If you’d like to practice the techniques demonstrated, you’ll need worsted-weight yarn, size U.S. 7 (4.5 mm) knitting needles, tapestry needle, and six homework swatches (instructions available as download document with registration).

Skill Level:
You don't need to have any particular skill level to attend this one-hour seminar. Beginners will benefit from watching the demonstrations and see "how it's done" before having to tackle the topic for the first time. Experienced knitters will find options that are also new or may have specific questions that get answered. We all benefit from the depth of knowledge and the experience that Ann brings to the seminar!
