Colourwork without stranding? Yes! Sign me up.
Mosaic knitting is a beautiful way to add colorwork to your knitting without having to carry multiple strands of yarn at a time. It’s like magic! In this class, we’ll cover the basic color theory that makes mosaic knitting sing, the fundamental building blocks of mosaic knitting, and how you might design your own!
Experience needed: you are comfortable and competent with knitting and purling.
This three-hour workshop takes place on Thursday, October 12 starting at 3:00 pm PDT, 4:00 pm MDT, 5:00 pm CDT, 6:00 pm EDT, 7:00 pm ADT and 7:30 pm in NL.
Please bring with you: your homework (see below), 30 yards [27 m] of a different-coloured yarn in the same weight and a writing implement for taking notes.
Homework: With smooth, non-haloed worsted weight yarn and US 8 [5 mm] circular needle, please cast on 24 stitches and work about an inch [2.5 cm] in stockinette stitch, worked flat and ending after a WS row. Do not bind off. Make sure to leave at least another 70 yards [64 m] of yarn attached.
