We are thrilled to be a participating shop providing custom colourway woolen yarns for the next Imagined Landscapes Mystery Knit-A-Long (MKAL), called Make Gnome Mistake.
Gnocchi is pretty pleased to be featured in Season 3 of the hit Gnetflix cooking show, “It’s a Chef’s Life.” If you’ve seen the show, you'll already know that instead of her famous gnocchi recipe inspiring her nickname, it started in childhood because of her nose (gnose?). You'll also know that she modelled her beard style after a plate of angel-hair pasta, and that she’s very opinionated about the way that spices are sprinkled at the edge of a plate.
*Please note that our kits do not include the Gnome pattern, which is only available through Imagined Landscapes. To learn more about the Gnome MKAL, visit the Imagined Landscapes website, where the pre-KAL information will be made available on April 11, 2022! The first Gnome clue will be released on May 13th, 2022. There will be prizes - lots of them, so be sure to enter pictures of your Epic Mystery Gnome!
Gnocchi features colourwork and we've choose the perfect wool for stranded projects, our RCY original Epic Yarn.
We have THREE new Epic Yarn colour kits available now and ready to ship, so you have them in plenty of time to start the Gnome MKAL. Each kit is named after one of Barb’s favourite Italian dishes and contains 3 x 50 g / 2.75 oz, 100 m / 109 yds skeins of RCY Epic 100% peruvian highland wool. Two of the skeins are semi solid colours hand picked for colourwork contrast and one skein is a coordinating speckle, hand dyed by some of our favourite dyers.
Kit 1 - Gorgonzola Risotto - 3 x 50 grams skeins of Epic in Navy, Silver and After the Rain (custom speckle dyed by Ancient Arts)
Kit 2 - Pasta Fagioli Soup - 3 x 50 gram skeins of Epic Peruvian Wool in Marine Blue, Ivory and a Surprise Speckle colourway (dyed by Over the Moon yarns)
Kit 3 - Mushroom Basil Pizza - 3 x 50 gram skeins of Epic Peruvian Wool in colour ways Bison, Grasslands and Into the Woods (custom speckle dyed by Ancient Arts)
You will also need:
- Knitting needles - we used 3.75 mm Flexi-Flips plus a 16 inch circular needle for the body. You can use double points, magic loop or two sets of circular needles as you prefer.
- Scissors and a tapestry needle for weaving in ends
All of our Gnome kits use Epic Yarn, a hardy yarn made of 100% Virgin Wool that stands second to none. Magnificently rugged, this yarn is pure poetry for knitting and crocheting those long lasting keepsakes like gansey sweaters and afghans, and is perfect for felting. With Epic yarn, every project is an epic in itself.....Tell your tale.
Note about yarns from our website: Photographs aren't perfect; they don't capture the texture and feel of the yarn. Colours viewed on different monitors may have shade and tone differences from the actual product. If you would like assistance with selecting a colour or an opinion/advice on finding a good yarn for your project, please feel free to give us a call.
