This untreated merino single ply has the loft of our much loved RCY Chunk-a-delic (sadly, discontinued), without the loose wispy bits.  Pill resistant and soft enough for sweaters and super bulky garments, blankets and pillows or ottoman style poufs.  Use this soft and colourful merino yarn for all your patterns where you want a super bulky gauge —8 sts to 4 inches/10 cm.

Flouf is dyed by the artists at Hand Maiden in a custom palette of River City Yarns colours similar to the colourways offered in our favourite in house yarns, Adam & Eve and Eden.

Ball Weight: 125 g / 4.4 oz
Ball Length: 75 m / 82 yds
Knitting gauge: 8 st = 10cm / 4"
Needle size: 9mm (US 13)
Yarn Fibre: 100% Merino

Care Instructions: Hand wash only, roll out excess water, lie flat to dry

Pattern Suggestions:  Flouf is great for anything where you want to get a gauge of 8 sts to 4 in / 10 cm. We have more pattern suggestions here!

We recommend one skein for our Chicago Bucket Hat!

Love hats?  Us too. Try out the Basic Beanie by Churchmouse Yarns. This quick accessory makes the perfect companion to a pair of chunky Ash Mittens, designed by Kim Hargreaves. The basic beanie is worked in the round (you'll need 9.0mm and 10.0mm circulars) and the mittens are worked flat.

We love Flouf for accessories and bulky sweaters or in place of roving in our patterns Thrummish Mittens and/or Thrummish Hat.  Barb reknit the pattern, Robbi's Neckerchief, in just one evening, using one skein of Flouf (colour Hyacynth) on 12mm needles .  She had just enough left over to make a fun tassel for the point.  Try one - so fun!
