They've created two great "how to" booklets along with novice level patterns and built-in tutorials to help you build your skills in either knitting or crochet.
For those learning how to knit, we recommend purchasing the Learn to Knit Companion booklet, along with any one of the first projects patterns listed below (basic materials list added for your reference).
