Trailhead Yarns is Canada's premier dyer of plant based yarns and threads since 2013. Dyer Samantha, started off making hand-dyed Canadian wool when a life changing wool allergy had her looking for plant based yarns like cotton, linen, and tencel. Samantha has been perfecting her techniques over the years, meeting the growing demand for sustainably sourced plant-based yarns for those who have allergies, live in warmer climates, want to wash and wear, and want to use vegan yarns.
Appalachian Trail is a cotton/nylon blend fingering weight yarn, great for summer tops and sweaters and equally nice for socks with its generous nylon content and custom spun twist which provides strong, long wearing fabric. Used for socks and light summer fabrics, or held doubled for DK weight projects on a larger needle, this multi use yarn might just become your newest favourite.

One skein will make a pair of socks, just pick your colour!
Note for socks: you will want to do a gauge swatch and adjust your sock needles to give you gauge for your favourite sock patterns. Our sample socks for Gentle Drizzle were done on 2.25 mm (US 1) size sock needles.
Note about hand painted yarns: These skeins are dyed by hand and may vary in colour and/or intensity from skein to skein, even within the same dyelot. Colours viewed on different monitors may have shade and tone differences from the actual product.
