A swatch that is being unravelled. Possibly because the knitter ran out of yarn and is undoing a gauge swatch?

We love online learning. Especially when we're able to bring great instructors like Kate Atherley right to you. Using Zoom as our online videoconferencing platform, you can take this class from anywhere.

Everything was fine until I washed it!

If you've tried to knit a sweater and...

  • you ran out of yarn;
  • the sweater was too big, too small, too long or too short;
  • pieces didn't fit together the way they were supposed to; or
  • everything was fine until you washed it.

...you may have run into some issues with gauge. We invite you to join this 2 hour presentation by Kate Atherley on "Getting Gauge". You’ve seen the information in the pattern, and you’ve been told – over and over again! – that it’s important, but do you really “get” gauge? This class answers all your questions about gauge: what it actually means, why it matters, how to check it and what to do about it. We’ll talk about proper swatching technique – including tips for making it easier, and when you can avoid it entirely. And we’ll provide strategies and solutions for when you just can’t get it!

This 2-hour workshop takes place on Wednesday, September 18 starting at 4:00 pm PDT, 5:00 pm MDT, 6:00 pm CDT, 7:00 pm EDT, 8:00 pm ADT.
