Rug hooking is both an art and a craft where rugs are made by pulling loops of yarn or fabric through a stiff woven base such as burlap, linen, or rug warp. The loops are pulled through the backing material by using a crochet-type hook mounted in a handle (usually wood) for leverage.
Deanne Fitzpatrick is a fabric artist, rug hooker, and writer based in Amherst, Nova Scotia. She is widely recognized as one of the world’s prominent modern rug hookers, and she has made rug hooking simple for beginners and advanced creative minds, through her store, exhibits, classes and workshops and her Nova Scotian themed rug hooking kits. We are so pleased to offer Deanne's rug hooking kits in our shop.
Each kit comes complete with the design you've picked hand drawn on the backing, and the materials you need to hook it. We recommend adding on a 10 inch quilting hoop to help keep the backing firm and taut.

- A rug hook
- A colour key to tell you where the colours go
