On the longest day of the year, our dear friend Ann Budd, knits to raise awareness (and hopefully a whole lot of funds) for the Alzheimer’s Association. The Longest Day event for Alzheimers helps by raising funds and awareness for care, support, and research on the day with the most light. This year is no exception!

How to participate and support the cause:

1. Purchase the pattern for the KAL: Ann is designing a brand new cowl pattern. For each pattern purchased, Ann will donate $5 USD to Alzheimer's research. We'll link to it as soon as it's published.

2. Purchase yarn for the KAL: details coming as soon as possible.

3. Come and cheer Ann on, knit and donate: On Sunday, June 23rd, Ann will knit from sunrise (somewhere around 5:00 am) to sunset (somewhere around 9:00 pm) Mountain Daylight Time on the project she designed specifically for this event. We're joining Ann, along with several other fabulous yarn shops, to turn this day into a fun knit-a-long (KAL). We want you to come along too. During the zoom sessions, we'll ask you to donate directly to Ann's Longest Day Fundraiser.

There are prizes! Ann will have have a "grand prize". She will raffle off her finished cowl to someone who donates $50 or more to her fundraiser page. Your chances to win increase with the size of your donation: donate $100, get two chances to win, donate $150 for three chances, and so on. All funds will be donated to Alzheimer's research. During each zoom session, shop owners will give out prizes to zoom attendees as well. Come and join in our session; Barb and Cynthia will be handing out 10 promo codes for one of Ann's exclusive patterns from our collection as well as a $50 gift certificate which you can redeem for patterns or classes on our website.

Join us for the KAL! It's free to participate:

If you'd like to Knit-A-Long with Ann on the Longest Day, you can! To make this day more interactive, seven Local (online) Yarn Shops have joined in to host a virtual zoom session with Ann. You can check in, give Ann a "way to go, thumbs up" emoji and hang out for an hour of chat and encouragement. We'll post links to the registration for each "stop" in the lineup below so you can join in on as many visits with Ann as possible.
